The Sweet Road to Ruin?

My fella got a snap of me on the way to work this morning. I love having a lunch kit, but sheesh! I look like such a nerd carrying that thing in the chic streets of New York City. Maybe I should figure out a way to make my kit a bit more trendy. Moving on...

Today's lunch:

  • quiche (the last piece, hooray!)
  • salad
  • balsamic vinagrette
  • strawberries
  • corn on the cob
  • mystery treat

Yes, same ol' same ol again today. But wait! Do your eyes deceive you? It can't be...but it IS! Nutella!!

I find myself hunting for something sweet around 3:00 and rather than going out and buying a cookie or candy I decided to build it into my lunch. It's only about a tablespoon of that heavenly chocolate hazelnut goop but it's enough to do the job. Hopefully it won't do too much damage to my figure. We'll see. I like the idea of having a dessert in my lunch, but I know myself all too well. Having that jar of Nutella could mean trouble. I'm no stranger to taking sneaky dips into jars of fattening spreads. I might have to ask the Mr. to hide the jar in the same place he is currently hiding the peanut butter. I still haven't found THAT yet!

  1. hi there, love your blog! i can relate, i feel like a nerd too going to work with my lunchbag LOL i work downtown nyc. i was thinking of getting the laptop lunchbox. got a question, does your food get all moved around in the case? thanks, marlene :)

  2. Hi Marlene. I'm so glad to hear that there's another NYC worker on the lunchbag scene. My laptop lunchbox keeps all the food in place. Some of the little containers come with lids for wet food like yogurt or soup. It's a pretty good kit.

  3. If I had a dollar for every time I've had to hide the PB from myself....

  4. Just recently came across your blog from another that I follow,Bitchcakes. I love your blog!
I saw Nutella at Costco the other day and had to leave it there because I knew I would not leave it alone:(
I look forward to following you and your lunches:)

  5. 1- You are ADORABLE and if there's anything wrong with being a nerd, I don't wanna be right!
2- I love the idea of that little dessert you can look forward to. And it totally fits into plan. You go, girl!

  6. Opps. Made my nutella comment on your previous post. Oh well - anyway, I wanted to say I liked your outfit and thought the lunch kit was a purse until I looked closer. Perhaps you could fit it into a purse of some sort?

  7. Love your blog, and your beautiful lunches! Thanks for sharing! We'll be sure to check back often to see what you're packing. Feel free to visit our menu gallery at for fresh ideas.
